The Civic Place theatre will be a high quality versatile venue unique to the North Shore. Featuring tiered seating for 500 people it will provide the perfect venue for:
- musical theatre
- dance performances
- drama
- school events
- corporate occasions
- conferences
- seminars
- Annual General Meetings and more
The theatre complements the numerous places and spaces that make up Civic Place, providing local performance and musical societies, businesses and community groups with another great venue and giving them choice when planning their event.
The theatre’s atmosphere will be intimate and sophisticated. The seating, arranged in a circular form, has been carefully designed to ensure every seat enjoys excellent sightlines and acoustics. The stage will have an orchestra pit at the front and is highly versatile to allow quick scene changes.
Patrons and performers with disabilities will have no problems using any feature, with full access from the street, car park and box office to the auditorium, stage, dressing rooms, orchestra pit, scenery workshop, laundry and wardrobe.
The bar, cloakroom and other amenities in the foyer means that patrons will be able to take a break and enjoy light refreshments without having to leave the site. The theatre’s classic elegance along with its practical design will make it a popular venue for all on the North Shore, providing a memorable experience for performers and patrons alike.
