Artist Concept Detail 22

The Civic Place Heritage and Public Art Master Plan were prepared in 2006 by Pamille Berg Consulting and identify a series of opportunities for the placement of commissioned and acquired works in Civic Place. It also advises on the integration of selected heritage items from the existing buildings into the new complex.

There will be two major commissions, one for the Water Court and the other in the Performance Foyer. Other locations under consideration include two in the new Library and another in the east–west corridor near the box office.

Artists for the two major commissions have been selected and the designs will be completed in 2009/2010, ready for installation in 2011.

There will be two major commissions, one for the Water Court and the other in the Performance Foyer. There will also be a donor recognition wall, a work based on quotes from the area’s history, and several smaller hanging works done by artists working with the community for the library and booking office.

The Bicentennial Banners have been conserved and will be rehung in the new Civic Hall.
