How do I become involved?
The Chatswood Civic Place is a project that has come about by the commitment of the community to having a state of the art new library and cultural community facilities.
Research and planning for the Civic Place Project started in 2000, resulting in the strong endorsement of the site Masterplan and the project, by the community at a Council Poll conducted in March 2004.
The new Civic Place has been designed to welcome and include all of those in our community including those who have not, or cannot, for whatever reason, take part in mainstream community, cultural, or recreational activities. Chatswood Civic Place is for everyone!
You can become involved in the Civic Place project before its completion by subscribing to be informed about the project through newsletters, community updates, invitations to special events, public art and community engagement programs.
This means you can become involved in many ways for example;
-
Business – What business opportunities are coming up at Civic Place? Can I hold a conference there? Can I open a café?
- Education - Find out about cultural and community arts programs and events. What programs will be run in the Library? How do I buy a ticket?
- Fundraising – How can you get your name inscribed in the Civic Place Building? How can I support the Library and the Arts?
- Accessibility – What opportunities are there for people with special needs? Will there be hearing augmentation in the performance venues? Where is wheelchair access to the building?
- Artists and Performers – How can I perform in Civic Place Concert Hall? Can I get a busking licence? How can I hire the rehearsal rooms?
- Community – How do I hire the Civic Hall? Can I participate in a public art program? When will Civic Place open?
