Government grants

The funding model includes an allocation of $5 million to be sourced from Commonwealth and State Government grants. The projected receipt of these funds was based on the experience of other Councils, that had built similar venues or facilities, or employed similar environmental initiatives, and as a consequence had received substantial funding support at similar levels.

Willoughby City Council has been awarded the following grants by the Federal Government and State Governments for stormwater management and water reuse initiatives provided within the Chatswood CBD and the Civic Place site.

  • Australian Water Commission - Water Smart Australia $1.88 million
  • Department of Environment and Conservation – Climate Change Fund $1.88 million (Formerly Water Savings Fund)

Funding has also been granted by the NSW Government

  • Arts NSW – Capital Infrastructure Fund $100 000
