Fundraising
Why do we need to raise funds for Civic Place?
All large scale community projects cost a considerable sum of money to undertake. To assist the realisation of the project, community fundraising and sponsorship programs are often included in funding plans. These programs are designed to assist in placing the “icing on the cake” for the project. The Civic Place Project is a $162.5 million project. As part of the overall funding plan for the project a $3 million target has been set for community fundraising.
Community philanthropy is a way for individuals, families, businesses and groups to become involved in a community project in a visible and tangible way. By donating funds to a project such as this, businesses and individuals can gain a sense of significantly contributing to the community, children, young people and those in need, in addition to arts and education programs.
Large corporations have this opportunity to promote themselves through association with a highly visible project, creating goodwill within the community.
So far the Civic Place Fundraising program has accepted pledges of over $500 000, one sixth of the $3 million target.
